Southern Field Days Round-up
At HWR, our community is what drives us. Any opportunity we have to share what we do with the people our work impacts most, we leap at it. And what better way to connect with them than at Southern Field Days – one of New Zealand’s largest agricultural events on the biennial calendar.
It’s these kinds of occasions that call for the whole HWR family of brands to show up in full force. We might be known by our customers, but there are a lot of businesses, and people behind them, that we might not otherwise get to meet. We’re pretty excited about what we’ve got in the works across our family of brands, and the Waimumu Show Grounds in Gore was the ideal place to share that.
Between February 14-16, over 40,000 people across the Southland region and beyond made the journey to the three-day event to soak up all the latest in rural technology, equipment and innovation.
Our HWR stands covered as many of our businesses as possible. Everything from heavy transport to concrete, civil works, petroleum and more were on display. From HWR Hydrogen to SouthRoads, Allied Petroleum, Allied Concrete, Transport World and Allied Materials – that’s just some of our team who were there to connect, inform and further build relationships with our community.
SouthRoad's brand new dual-fuel DAF, coupled with a bottom dumper trailer registered just that week, one of the two newest additions to our hydrogen truck fleet, served as a drawcard for the public and sparked conversations. The high number of visits to the truck underscores the keen interest among the public in discussions about future fuels within our industry.
Another highlight of the event was the launch of our TruckSafe campaign. This initiative aimed to engage with the next generation of potential truck drivers, heavy vehicle enthusiasts, and supporters of our industries. It also serves to draw attention to the everyday risks faced by our drivers on the roads.
Southern Field Days was certainly one for the books, and we can’t wait to get amongst more of these events in the future. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears to the ground – we hope to see you there!
