A landmark livestock transport operation has successfully concluded in the Gore district, with two local companies collaborating to move one of the largest cattle shipments of 2024. Hokonui Rural Transport and Andrews Transport worked hard to relocate an impressive 1,700 cattle to Central Saleyards (Charlton).
The meticulously planned operation involved a fleet of six trucks working in concert, with drivers navigating multiple rounds of transport from two separate collection points. Each truck completed three runs, resulting in 18 precise loading andunloading operations throughout the day.The smooth running of this big move for Smith Farming showed just how skilled both transport companies are at their work. The drivers and their teams handled everything with care and precision, proving once again that local transport companies can manage even the biggest farming jobs without a hitch.
