An Unforgettable Day Out
It was a day of speed, stories and seriously good pies. On 23 August, 16 lucky customers joined us for a day out with NZ racing legend and Bathurst 1000 winner, Greg Murphy, at the Teretonga Raceway.
Customers geared up in a full racing suit and helmet before getting strapped into the passenger seat. Murph took the wheel of a Mini Cooper, while Scott O’Donnell, a seasoned racer himself, was in a Porsche Cayenne. Both drivers took everyone on ‘hot laps’. While the experience wasn’t about hitting top-speeds, guests got to feel the adrenaline of the Teretonga Raceway while staying safe and sound.
After getting a taste of the track, everyone filled up at The Pieoneer, a pie truck run by a couple new to Invercargill who have just started a journey into deliciousness. HWR and Allied Petroleum Ltd proudly back local businesses, putting the icing on an already amazing day.
The feedback? Unanimous. Everyone loved it. From one-on-one time with the drivers and hearing their tales, to experiencing the thrill of the track and listening to Greg and Scott’s thoughts on everything from HWR to the Supercar Champs.
The afternoon flew by, but our guests definitely won’t forget it. Because it’s not every day you get to experience life in the fast lane with a Kiwi racing legend
